On November 5, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center celebrated the shared panel “Big Data and AI for Enhanced Urban Decision-making: Venice & Barcelona”, formed by principal investigator of the ASCENDER and EXTRACT projects, Eduardo Quiñones, the councillor of the city of Venice, Enrico Gavagnin, and the representative of the Barcelona Regional, Marc Montelló; all moderated by the journalist Ruth Gumbau, at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024.

ASCENDER launches its new profile on the LinkedIn social network, under the name of Proyecto Ascender, with the aim of broadening its impact and making the results known. The project’s profile on this social network will allow information to be shared on the latest developments in research and to publicise the technical team’s participation in events or other activities where ASCENDER technology is present.

From June 11 to June 14, 2024, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) facilities hosted the 28th edition of the Ada-Europe International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies (AEiC 2024).

During 2023, the foundations of the ASCENDER project were laid, led by Eduardo Quiñones, an established researcher in the Computer Science department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The name of the project is due to the Spanish acronym for Software Architecture for Continuous Computing Environments for the development, deployment and Execution of Extreme Data Analysis methods.
